The nominations for the 2026 Emmy Awards have been officially revealed, highlighting outstanding achievements across various television categories. The drama series 'The Pitt' secured the most nominations with an impressive 25 nods. Hot on its heels, the comedy series 'Hacks' garnered 24 nominations, establishing a new benchmark for a comedy in a single year. Additionally, the new series 'Widow's Bay' made a strong debut, leading all freshmen shows with 19 nominations.

Several other productions also received significant recognition, with 'Pluribus' earning 18 nominations, 'Beef' securing 16, and 'DTF St. Louis' receiving 13. Long-running shows like 'Saturday Night Live' and 'Spider-Noir' each collected 11 nominations. The initial announcements for Best Variety Series and Reality Competition were broadcast earlier, with acclaimed actors Liza Colón-Zayas and Jeff Hiller unveiling the remaining nominees during a live-streamed ceremony from the TV Academy’s Saban Media Center.

This year's Emmy Awards will be hosted by Mariska Hargitay, marking a departure from the recent tradition of comedians leading the event. Hargitay, an Emmy winner herself for her role in 'Law & Order: SVU,' is also a nominee this year for her documentary 'My Mom Jayne.' The main awards ceremony is scheduled to air live on NBC and Peacock on Monday, September 14, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, with the Creative Arts Emmys taking place the weekend prior.

The annual Emmy Awards celebrate excellence in television, recognizing the hard work and creativity of actors, writers, directors, and production teams. These nominations not only honor current achievements but also inspire future content creators to push boundaries and deliver compelling stories. The recognition serves as a testament to the vibrant and ever-evolving landscape of television entertainment, encouraging continued innovation and high-quality programming.
