Jennifer Todd, a distinguished producer and former Governor of the Academy's Producers Branch, is set to helm the 17th Governors Awards. This will be her inaugural time producing the esteemed event, succeeding Jennifer Fox, who served in the role for seven years. Todd's extensive background in film production and her prior experience with Academy telecasts position her as an ideal choice to orchestrate an evening celebrating cinematic excellence.

The upcoming ceremony will shine a spotlight on several luminaries within the film industry. Esteemed actor Glenn Close, acclaimed director Ridley Scott, and pioneering animator Floyd Norman will each be presented with honorary Oscars, recognizing their profound contributions to motion pictures. Additionally, producers Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler are slated to receive the prestigious Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award, an accolade reserved for creative producers whose body of work consistently demonstrates exceptional quality in film production.

Todd expressed her enthusiasm for the opportunity, emphasizing her desire to craft a tribute that truly reflects the lasting cultural impact of the honorees' work. Her impressive career spans three decades, featuring a diverse filmography that includes Christopher Nolan's critically acclaimed "Memento," which garnered two Oscar nominations, as well as the popular "Austin Powers" series. Her previous experience includes co-producing the 89th and 90th Academy Awards alongside Michael De Luca, both of which received Emmy nominations for outstanding special class program and outstanding variety special (live). The Governors Awards ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, November 15, 2026, at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood.

The Governors Awards serve as a crucial platform to acknowledge and honor the extraordinary contributions of individuals who have shaped the art and science of motion pictures. Through these accolades, the Academy not only celebrates past achievements but also inspires future generations of filmmakers and artists to continue pushing creative boundaries, fostering a vibrant and innovative cinematic landscape for years to come.
